While mealtime can be the most precious time of the day for a family, it doesn’t come without its challenges. It was BabyBjörn’s mission to simplify everyday life for families with small children. They’ve developed a new product to make mealtime with little ones safe and enjoyable. Falls cause the most common injuries to small children — and high chairs and changing tables are involved frequently. That’s why at the beginning of the 21st century, the Swedish Consumer Agency encouraged BabyBjörn to develop a safe high chair that would prevent children from standing up (and falling out). Creating just the right product was no easy task. The entire process from concept to finished product took about eight years. The project was put on hold after about two years so that they could trouble-shoot and find the safest solution to hold the child securely in the chair. Still, they forged on and made new prototypes to test with families. The result is the BabyBjörn High Chair, a high chair designed to make mealtime more enjoyable and safe.

Unique safety solution: because safety always comes first. Your child should not be able to stand up or rest his or her feet on the table so that the chair tips backwards. Safety was the primary focus when developing the foldout table, which functions as a secure safety lock. No harness is needed, and older siblings cannot open the two-step lock.

Proper sitting position: small children are not well-seated or comfortable in most high chairs. That’s why BabyBjörn designed their high chair with a curved backrest that hugs your child’s body, and an adjustable table that helps your child to sit comfortably upright. The high chair is suitable for children from six months to three years, and is easy to adjust to your growing child.

Less mess: to minimize mess, they designed the high chair with smooth surfaces without nooks and crannies where food can collect. The safety table fits snugly against the child’s tummy so that food does not fall into his or her lap. The tray-table is easy to take off and may be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.

Compact when folded: the high chair is easy to fold. When folded, it is only 26 cm wide and is easy to store or take with you on a trip.

Age: recommended for children who can sit up on their own, from around 6 months to 3 years (max height 95 cm).
Materials: made from plastic and painted steel. PVC-free and contains no bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates, cadmium, lead, bromine or chlorine. Moreover, the plastic is recyclable.
Safety: childproof 2-step lock keeps the child securely in place and also ensures that the child cannot open, close or fold the high chair into the transport position. The high chair is a safe, tried and tested quality product, developed in collaboration with pediatricians, industrial designers, children and parents. Complies with EN14988:2006 safety requirements.
Product care: wipe the high chair with a clean, damp cloth. The detachable tray can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
